Subject: BNDs in Burlington and Seattle (USA)
Greetings!
Buy Nothing Days were also successful in Burlington and Seattle (both coasts of the USA) and were featured in the Saturday New York Times. In Seattle, Your Money or Your Life author Vicki Robin dressed up like a doctor and dispensed advice from a makeshift "Affluenza clinic" with other activists at a mall. In Burlington, vigilers battled sleet and freezing rain to distribute alternative gift ideas (including "gift of time" certificates) and "How to Live Life Better with Less" brochures. Burlington vigilers had so much fun in fact, they're going back to 2 area malls this Saturday (12/6)!! No sense waiting til BND '98, we want to keep up the pressure for this Christmas!
